What Students Say

leftq karencharlie_640_857_100Just to let you know some of what I loved about cyberdog….

  • In class, I always learned things I was wondering about- and a couple of things I never thought to ask!
  • You guys are wonderfully encouraging!
  • Video is a great medium for learning!
  • I loved seeing other students work!
  • My old dog is more lively (hangs out in the living room rather than the bedroom)- and Charlie is calmer and more able to focus!  He also is more affectionate.
  • Having the written information [individual feedback and coaching notes] in Lesson Track was hugely helpful- it meant I could relax in the lesson and not need to take notes!

I loved the thought, the care, the exquisite professionalism you put into teaching well!

I got way more out of this class than any of many previous dog classes that I have taken - and since we did not spend any time driving to class, the time all went into learning thoughtful and strategic training! rightq

leftq I love how clearly everything is organized. I love the detailed feedback from the instructors. Every step of the way I knew what I was doing right, what I could improve on, and what to move onto next and this made it easy (not intimidating). I received lots of positive reinforcement and this was great! I also learned how to break behaviors down into small steps and stick with ONE CRITERIA at a time. The course instructions (Tag Points and Click Points) make this super clear! I liked the flexibility with class times (being able to pick and choose from week to week) because my work schedule changes from week to week. rightq

leftq My dog Cola and I were complete novices when it came to dog training.  Cola was my foster dog (we’ve since adopted him  J) and had spent most of his first year of life in a shelter.  He is a high reactive dog and cannot be around groups of dogs.   I work many hours and have to adjust my schedule around work.  Thus training in my own home was perfect for both of us.  Because of Cola’s high reactive nature, I knew that a “positive” approach to training was pamcola2needed.  I read a few books on clicker training and tried on my own – but with little success.  The Cyber Dog videos and training aids were very helpful in teaching me how to effectively time and use the clicker (and treats).  The training is very well structured and easy to follow.  Each skill is broken into training levels with videos and training aids for each level.  My favorite part was attending class.  It was interesting to watch other people’s videos and the feedback provided was incredible.  Class also provided a wonderful forum to discuss dog related items with other dog lovers.  Cyber dog taught me “how” to train so that I have been able to apply the techniques that I learned to other skills I wanted Cola to learn.  Cola also loved the training … every time I bring out the clicker he gets happy and excited – enjoying the one on one time and training as much as I do.rightq

leftqI really enjoyed the lesson this week and the videos were excellent! The content was clear and easy to follow. I did watch them through once without practicing or having Cooper perform. The second time I watched them I practiced the parts that did not involve Cooper. The third time through I put all the pieces together and then filmed the final product. Love the fact that I could go back and watch the videos more than once and found it very helpful and reinforcing. rightq

leftq LOVE LOVE LOVE...The Cyber Dog concept, structure, flexibility and especially the instructors! The fact that my dog can learn faster because everything is introduced in the distraction-free, comfort of our own home is GREAT! The instructional videos and lesson plans are easy to follow and classes are a lot of fun. It's great to learn from watching and discussing our videos with fellow classmates and awesome instructors. My canine teammate is 8 yrs old and I feel we have made more training progress in the last few weeks than all of our classes to date. One of my goals in taking this class was to build a better relationship with my girl and we are well on our way. Thank You Helix, Sarah and Lynn...You guys are awesome! rightq

leftq More from Jan:
A LIGHT BULB MOMENT! When we have talked about light bulb moments it has usually been in regards to the dog. Well today I had one. My younger girl is usually always hanging around or within sight and always checks in when they are in the yard and I'm in the house. Gina not so much. She would sit out in the yard all day and never check in if we let her. Well today I was getting a little frustrated because every time I turned around, I was tripping over both of them. Wait! I said I was tripping over BOTH of them! The more I thought about it, Gina has been hanging around with me and checking in and looking for things to do so much more since we started Cyberdog classes. Very cool! Thanks guys.rightq

leftq I liked reviewing the Clicker Training basics. I learned/liked to observe how each skill was broken down into components, and appreciated the Tag Points and Click points. New learning included the "J" leash walking, the idea of approach to a greeter but leaving, walking away and re-approaching several times before any actual greeting. Keeps the dog more calm and focused on me. Change in focus is the biggest thing. Before when we came up to people, I was focused on them and only half on my dog, rather than complete dog focus which the dog, in turn, now gives to me....Perhaps the best thing was being part of a training "group" that was doing the same thing and talking about it weekly. No judgement, just ideas, suggestions and lots of positives for what we were trying.rightq

leftqI have done dog training with previous dogs in my life. This type of training has made it a more enjoyable and much more bonding experience than anything I have done in the past. An on-line course was the only option for me due to my heavy travel schedule. This course enabled me to be able to do a dog training class when there was no way for me to attend one in person.rightq
